2. Wash your face only twice a day

You may wish to cleanse your skin multiple times a day if you have oily skin. However, you should only wash your face twice a day and after sweating. Overdoing it will just deplete natural oils, and healthy, supple skin need some sebum. To get rid of any excess oil and dirt, scrub your skin after applying a cleansing oil. Avoid products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These compounds are anti-acne, but they’re also rather drying. Instead, try utilizing them as spot treatments. You can avoid exposing healthy skin to their harmful effects this way.

3. Make face masks 2–3 times a week.

Because oily skin is more prone to breakouts and acne, using a face mask twice or three times a week will unclog pores and remove trapped dirt and oil. To try them out, make a mask with 1 egg white and 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice. To boost the vitamin C content, add a cup of mashed strawberries to the recipe. 4. Moisturize

8. Exfoliate once a week with oatmeal or ground almonds

Oatmeal and powdered almonds are natural exfoliants that will exfoliate your skin without drying it out too much. Combine the two with honey and exfoliate your skin gently before rinsing it off. Exfoliating more than twice a week is not recommended.

9. Eat healthy

Your diet has a big impact on how well you take care of your skin. Knowing what to eat and what not to eat to avoid oily skin in the long run can be really beneficial.

Because they swiftly boost blood sugars, high glycemic foods and beverages may trigger inflammation and sebum production. Therefore, people with oily skin should strive to eat meals that are low in glycemic index, such as:

  • fresh vegetables
  • fresh fruits
  • legumes and peas
  • most whole grain cereals and oats

Because of its high glycemic index, cow’s milk can potentially cause acne by triggering inflammatory pathways. As a result, the pores become clogged.
